Celebrating 10 Years of Inspired Travel
Since 2009, life/after/denim has crafted menswear collections that put a unique spin on tried and true traditions. As we celebrate 10 years, we marvel at the travels that have inspired our collections and the values that have carried us so far.
Our affair with travel began with our founder, Alexis Frey. Alexis was born in Hong Kong, grew up in New York City, spent time working in Southern China, and now lives in Los Angeles.
Wherever she goes, Alexis brings with her a passion for timeless, quality menswear that her father—who has decades of experience in the garment industry—instilled in her as a child.
No matter the destination, we’ve never looked away from our north star: superlative menswear.
We stay true to our signature roots: staples that are never basic, workmanship that doesn’t compromise, swagger that doesn’t quit.
Working with some of the best factories in the world, we make clothes that are cut, sewn, and knit in small batches and short production lines to ensure integrity; we source novelty materials; and our design team hand draws its original prints in Los Angeles.
In Alexis’s footsteps our team has travelled to Bangkok, Tokyo, and Osaka; Milan, Rome, and Florence; Amsterdam and Copenhagen; Paris, London, and Glasgow; Madrid, Montreal and Mexico City; New York and San Francisco; Sydney… the list goes on.
No matter where they go, our designers return home committed to paying homage to other cultures—with color palettes, fabric, and prints—while marrying overseas inspiration with our Los Angeles roots.
In our "East Meets West" line of Spring 2016, the designers used Japanese fabrics to craft styles for life in LA.
For life/after/denim’s Anniversary Collection, our designers escaped to Glasgow and London for a collection that nods to Scottish tradition while drawing from London’s West End sophistication and East End street style.
We’re excited, as always, to share this collection with you, and we can’t wait for the next trip. Cheers to another 10 years!
Where will you go next in LAD?
