Fall 2018: Nature in the City
Montreal, the inspiration for our Fall 2018 Collection, is a city with nature literally at its heart. Sitting at the center of the city, Mount Royal, a three-peaked hill, offers 4 distinct seasons of outdoor adventure atop the streets below.
Tourists in search of inspiration, we looked down on the cityscape from Mount Royal Park, imagining a collection as much at home at the top of a mountain as at the center of a city—a collection to reach for wherever art, culture, and nature come together.
We wandered through the cosmopolitan bustle of Downtown and into the quaint, French village vibe of Old Montreal. We thrived on the energy of French-English-speaking locals, and we drew inspiration from the urban nirvana around us: the Underground City’s towers and tunnels; the artisanal menswear shops and avante-garde fashion boutiques; the eclectic culinary scene; the joie de vivre attitude.
Dining at one of the many rooftop terraces that crown the city—with the notes of Ca Plane Pour Moi, by Plastic Bertrand playing in our heads—we sketched a tech-meets-heritage collection with re-imagined outdoors-inspired prints for the modern man. We chose bold plaids, brushed flannels, and cozy sweaters knit from novelty yarns; we completed the look with garment-dyed camo jacquards and reversible outerwear with tech-inspired fabrics and details.
We filled the Fall ’18 Collection with easy, styled pieces that are both contemporary and practical, just like the city that inspired them. With elements of outerwear, workwear, and sportswear, and a look of casual refinement, the pieces can take you effortlessly from old world to new, from Americana to Europe, and from city streets to a snowy cabin.
